Bullard softball celebrates state championship with ring ceremony

BULLARD, Texas (KLTV) - The Bullard High School softball team celebrated its 2026 UIL Class 4A Division I state championship with a ring ceremony on Sunday that marked the finale of the team’s historic season.
During the ceremony, attended by players, coaches, parents, and community members, Head Coach Julie Murry spoke before each player, team manager, student athletic trainer, and coach received their championship ring. The rings serve as a lasting reminder of the team’s hard work, determination, and the season that brought pride to the Bullard community.
The Panthers’ championship run began with their seventh consecutive undefeated district championship. Bullard carried that momentum into the UIL Class 4A Division I playoffs, defeating Vidor, Huffman Hargrave, Sealy, Livingston, and softball powerhouse Corpus Christi Calallen. The Panthers swept every opponent, winning each series in two games.
With strong support from Bullard fans in the stands and many more watching or listening online, the Panthers capped their season with a 3-0 victory over Prosper Richland in the state championship game Friday, May 29, at Red and Charline McCombs Field on the University of Texas at Austin campus. The win secured the program’s first state championship.
