Toxicology report: Longview ISD teacher drove drunk in fatal wreck that killed nurse practitioner
GREGG COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - A crash report has confirmed a Longview ISD teacher had been driving while intoxicated in a wreck that killed her and a Longview nurse practitioner.
The wreck happened on April 19 on Highway 259 in the Diana area at about 3 a.m.
Hospitality Health Nurse Practitioner Joel Mack and LISD Foster Middle School Teacher Kimberly Law were both killed in the crash.
Toxicology reports found Law to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.157, according to a crash report. The legal limit in Texas is 0.08.
The report states Law was driving south in the northbound inside lane and Mack was driving north in the same lane when the vehicles collided.
Law’s vehicle spun and began to roll before coming to rest upright facing west in the center median. Mack’s vehicle veered right across the roadway before veering back to the left, also coming to rest facing west in the center median.
Law died at the scene, and Mack was taken to a hospital, where he died.
