6 people, including 2 elementary students, killed in fiery head-on crash, authorities say
HILL COUNTY, Texas. (KWTX/Gray News) - Six people, including 2 children, were killed in a fiery head-on crash in Texas, according to authorities.
The crash reportedly happened at about 4:30 p.m. on June 20.
Officials said the driver of a passenger car traveling northbound attempted to pass another vehicle and crashed into an approaching van.
Two adults and two children in the van were killed. A third child riding in the van was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The two children killed were students at Hillsboro Elementary School. The child who survived the wreck is also enrolled at the school.
“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of two Hillsboro Elementary School (HES) students,” the school district wrote in a statement emailed to KWTX. “A third HES student is recovering at Cook Children’s Medical Center.”
The names of the children were not released.
Two people riding in the passenger car were also killed in the crash.
