She has a memorable smile and an equally great personality. We introduced you to Brittany about a year and a half ago.
It was an unforgettable story as this young girl met the Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies' basketball team.
They were an inspiration to Brittany as they welcomed her into their TJC family, and gave her encouragement as she waited for her forever family.
Today, we have an update on Brittany in KLTV 7's Gift of Love report.
"Brittany, my name is Donna and welcome to Build-a-Bear workshop."
It's a special day for 12 year old Brittany.
"This is my first time. I've always wanted to come here...you get to chose any of them to be your new best friend."
This young girl is all too familiar with making new freinds. She's been in foster care for 7 years, bounced between 9 different homes and several schools - but she was confident her luck would one day change.
"That I will actually have a family that I don't have to move away from."
Then, an east Texas family saw her on KLTV 7.
"In December we saw her on Gift of Love, and were just drawn to her. I really don't know why."
Melanie Lott and her husband John began the process to adopt Brittany. Unfortunately, they were not selected to be her forever family. Although devastated, they never lost hope.
Then, almost exactly one year to the date they first saw her, they got a phone call that Brittany was still avaialble.
"People go through bad times and it's easy to lose faith in God, but it's also easy to regain it too."
"God is real and he is good and this is without a doubt a God-driven thing. There is no doubt in my mind," said Melanie.
"Okay, I want you to close your eyes and make a wish."
That wish came true just a few weeks ago when Brittany officially got her forever family, including 4 brothers.
"2 little ones, one 10 year old, and one 17 year old brother."
A big family, all with big hearts.
"They're nice...they show me love. They mean a lot to me."
And what Brittany means to this family is almost indescribable.
"Everything...[she has changed our lives] very much."
Brittany too now has a new last name, a name that spells love.
And she has just two words for her new family: "Thank you!"
Since finding her forever family Brittany is like a different child.
She is maturing and growing and is now an A/B student with a bright future ahead.
