Henderson residents bring donations to Moore tornado victims
HENDERSON, TX (KLTV) - Residents in Henderson pulled together to make a huge delivery to the people of Moore, Oklahoma.
More than a dozen local businesses donated food, fuel and money toward the cause. What started as one man trying to gather a few pallets of water, turned into 15,000 water bottles and 200 pounds of chopped beef and brisket. Coolers and trailers were donated to haul everything to Oklahoma.
Brant Bane, who organized the efforts, drove with a few other Henderson residents to drop everything off Thursday. He says Henderson residents Donna Fielding, Julie Fielding, Michael Watson and Carla Carr helped load the trailers.
"It was very devastating. We went through the worst part of Moore and it was just something that, you see it on TV, but you really don't take into consideration what it really looks like until you're sitting there watching people dig through the rubble of their life," says Bane.
Bane says he was overwhelmed with how many businesses were eager to make donations.
