Pretrial for Kimbley child endangerment charges rescheduled
Jury selection for an East Texas couple accused of child endangerment has been reset for May 3.
David and Sabrina Kimbley of Winona are each charged with 13 counts of child endangerment.
In August of 2012, their 2-year-old son, Jake Kimbley, was found dead inside a septic tank near the family's home. Jake's autopsy results have come back twice as pending and his death is still under investigation.
Right now the Kimbleys are going to trial for the charges pertaining to their living children. Investigators say those children were found in unsafe conditions. According to prosecutors, the Kimbleys were raising their children in a roach, rat and spider infested home.
Judge Cynthia Kent said the defense should have a chance to review additional 1,097 pages just received from CPS before the pretrial begins.
The pretrial has been reset for May 3 at 9 a.m. The trial is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 3 at 10 a.m.
Five of the Kimbley's children are still in state custody.
