LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - The funeral for longtime Texas Ranger Glenn Elliott starts at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning at Alpine Church of Christ, 610 East Loop 281 in Longview.
Elliott died around 9 a.m. on Monday.
During his 38 years as a Highway Patrolman and Texas Ranger, Elliott investigated and solved some of the highest profile cases in the country. He wrote two books, "Glenn Elliott: A Ranger's Ranger," and "Glenn Elliott: Still a Ranger's Ranger," which detail many of those cases.
Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt said, "I never met a Ranger or law enforcement person who did not respect Glenn Elliot. He was well respected and will be remembered."
A longtime Longview resident, Elliott was 86.
