At Hairspray Family Salon in Flint, you won’t find hair relaxer services. Hairstylist, Chelsea Anderson never offered it since she began doing hair 11 years ago.
“I thought it was a very harsh chemical and I didn’t like it on my hair, so I didn’t want to put it on anyone else’s scalp. I would get a chemical burn. I would notice that my hair was thinning.”
- We’re learning more about the decision to cancel this year’s Rose City Christmas Parade, which was set to happen Thursday, Nov. 30. With rain and storms in the forecast, the Rotary Clubs of Tyler made a decision to cancel the parade.
U.S. Army veteran Sergeant Robert Sheppard lost nearly everything in his house after it caught fire last night around 10 p.m. and was not contained for hours. Today, he was able to rummage through the ashes to find what was spared by the flames.
Abby Hattaway, a sophomore Rangerette from Kilgore, said this is an honor.
“Getting to go, see the museum, understand what happened and realizing why we’re here and why we do this for all the people that died and for their families it’s really special that we can help them just remember it every day,” Hattaway said.
On Wednesday morning, members of the 1994 John Tyler State Championship team visited the ETSO offices to share their memories with staff as they work to create a story honoring East Texas Football. The show is on March 23 at the UT Tyler Cowan Center. There will even be a tailgate before the show.
“We just want to encourage everyone in Gladewater, this is about our town. We need to take care of our kids," said toy drive founder Darla Ferguson. Gladewater's firefighters say they enjoy giving back to the community by helping her with that mission.
