Neal McCoy says this year's fundraiser concert sold out in four hours because his special guest is none other than Vince Gill. But don't worry, he's got a way you can still watch the show on Saturday.

One of his final requests was for his funeral to be held on the field he built. “He was talking about it in the hospital, that he wanted to have it out on the baseball field, I mean this was his dream, so that’s what we wanted to do for him,” said his son David Cornelius, Jr.

Williams’ appearance at the luncheon was also personal. After his father’s death in 2014, an autopsy revealed the actor was suffering from an incurable brain disease called Lewy Body Dementia, a disease already taking its toll, according to Zak, who would later say he could see his dad “slowly drifting.” Now, as Williams travels the country helping others, it is his father’s legacy of service that keeps him going.

“It’s a devastating loss for his family, and his work family. We valued him; he was part of our family,” says store owner Chris Spencer. He’s remembered as a model employee, and gentle soul. The community has responded with an outpouring of sympathy and help for the family.

Texas’ shortage of sports officials continues to affect many school games. But after the Texas Education Agency approval, Mount Pleasant ISD is one of the latest to offer a sports officiating class in their curriculum. Students have the opportunity to learn the rules and mechanics of officiating and become referees to help ease the shortage.

The grounds will have live music, scavenger hunts, giveaways, photo opportunities and more. Almost all of the vendor spots are sold out for even more opportunities for shopping and fun finds. The celebrations kicked off Thursday and will go until Sunday, Oct. 1.
