ETX radio personality John Sims suffered a severe brain injury as a result of an auto-pedestrian crash that happened Tuesday around 8:30 a.m. on Front St. at Bonner Ave. Sadly, he died of his injuries a little after 3:30 a.m. Friday, according to KTBB owner Paul Gleiser.

Hawkins High School junior Jaykob Dodd recently was notified that he had won a national gold medal at the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, which is the largest and most prestigious art contest in the country. "It’s celebrating its 100th anniversary.
