Tis the season for sneezing and sniffling in East Texas. Ragweed has returned to the daily pollen count and is making life miserable for East Texans with allergies, and it’s not the only allergen to blame.

Some residents in Cherokee County spoke out today about the quality of their water, saying they’ve seen issues with it for months.

“They require really specialized care because they are accessed by their ports,” Rucker said. “Any fever that they spike has to be treated because they have a port. It is technically a foreign body. So that fever we can’t just assume that they have a cold or a virus. It could be their body having an infection reaction to their port itself.”

The organization shined a light on those children as they walked across a gold carpet, being the heroes that they are. The organization serves kids who are currently on treatment or who have completed treatment, as well as families who have lost a child to cancer.
