Trial date set for suspended Smith County constable accused of theft

“Anytime you have people who are waiting in jail for their trial, we try to expedite those cases so they don’t wait too long,” said Smith County District Attorney Jacob Putman. “Judge Skeen also retires at the end of this year. Since he’s been handling this case, he’s trying to get it resolved before the end of the year.”
Guest speakers included district three Tyler City Councilwoman Dr. Shirley McKellar.
“They felt compelled by a desire to not only preserve African American history, but to provide a place for the community to view their history,” said Mckeller.
“I would easily attribute 7 to 8 percent of our increases are due to inflation. Because goods and services across the spectrum have increased. Some have increased minimally; some have increased quite a bit” Canizares said.
