TYLER, TX - A Tyler ISD elementary counselor is one of only a handful of counselors to be recognized at the national level during National School Counseling Week going on February 2 though February 6.

Cathy Sullivan, counselor at Douglas Elementary School has been recognized by the Xap Corporation.

"I look upon this recognition as a shared honor since I learned so much from my fellow counselors," said Cathy Sullivan. "We are very supportive of each other."

According to the Xap Corporation, the five counselors selected are among those they feel have done a special job making a difference in the lives of the students in their school, district, and state/province. The company recognizes individuals who epitomize the thousands of counselors that help millions of students achieve success every year during National School Counseling Week.

Sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), National School Counseling Week focuses public attention on the enormous impact that counselors make on students' social, personal, educational and career development.
