An East Texas family is starting the new year in a new home.

This afternoon Habitat for Humanity and three Longview Rotary clubs dedicated a home to Jursey Acles and her daughter Rose and grandson. The home is Habitats first Rotary house. Longview's three Rotary clubs came together in June to both fund and build the home for the Acles family.

"All the volunteers who came out to help us and volunteers that came out to help and I'm proud of my mom and my son."

Habitat for Humanity and the sponsoring group are really giving them a hand up instead of a handout."

This is the 17th Longview Habitat home built in the Stamper Park area. Longview Habitat plans on building 20 more homes in the next several years.
