For over half a century, Dr. Oren Ferrell delivered East Texas babies and treated the ills of our citizens. But in World War Two, his skilled hands were flying a B-17 Bomber in defense of our country. Ferrell flew 22 bombing missions over Germany, France, and Austria. Although he and his crew survived the war, his plane would often return to base with over 200 holes in it.
Ferrell was told from the start that his chance of returning alive was only 50-50 and there were many times when he thought they would be lost. However in 1946, Ferrell returned home, completed his medical studies and begn a long and successful medical career.
