UPDATE: Tyler Police report that they have arrested Brandon Hawkins for aggravated assault tonight. He was arrested at around 7:00 pm tonight.

One man is in custody and one is sought after a shooting on the corner of Forest and Claude Streets in Tyler this afternoon.

According to police, four men were in a backyard near an old car when two men in a vehicle opened fire on them, firing around a dozen rounds. No one was hit, and the car took most of the damage.

After the police were called, one of the alleged shooters, Eric Lamar Erskine, 20, drove back by the home, and was spotted by police and the victims. Police gave chase, and found Erskine after a couple alerted them that he was hiding in their garage. He had ditched his car about 30 feet away from where he was found, on the corner of Houston and Inglewood.

Police are still seeking Brandon Deshun Hawkins, 21, in relation to the case.

Police also say that right now, the men will be charged with deadly conduct, but that after forensic evidence is examined, the charges may be ramped up to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
