Longview Police Arrest 17 Year Old In Smash And Grabs

Early this morning, about three am, Longview police Sergeant Ben Kemper observed two suspects running from the west side of Zippy J's convenience store, which is located at 2001 North Eastman Road.

The suspects had smashed a window at the location to gain entry into the building.

Both were carrying beer and upon seeing Kemper, dropped the beer and continued to run away. One of the subjects was taken into custody a few minutes later by other responding officers while the second subject managed to elude officers.

Roman Solis, 17 of Longview was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Building (State Jail Felony) and Evading Arrest (Class "B" Misdemeanor) and taken to the Gregg County Jail.

Detectives are continuing to work this case as well as several others in the city and are anticipating additional arrests.
