Tyler Parks Department To Host Cooking Class

The City of Tyler Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for the upcoming "Tastes like grilled but baked in the oven" cooking class scheduled for July 8.  The course will be taught by Jack Lewis, executive chef for Rick's Restaurant, and will be held at Harvey Convention Center's Hall 3 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Chef Lewis will prepare a full course meal - from appetizer to dessert.  He will demonstrate techniques and share his recipes and helpful tips.  Attendees will partake of the meal as each course is completed.

"The Parks cooking classes have become one of our most popular recreational courses," said Debbie Isham, recreation supervisor.  "The combination of getting to learn from a great chef as well as share in the meal prepared is irresistible."

The cost of the class is $15 per person and pre-registration is required.  Space is limited, so register early!  To register, contact Debbie Isham, special events/recreation supervisor at (903) 531-1214.
