Smith County Employees Arrested On Theft Charges

Two Smith County employees have bonded out of jail after being accused yesterday of stealing county property.

Bond had been set at $5000.

Judge Joel Baker tells KLTV 7 News that the employees, Roderic Edwards and Ronald Williams, both of Tyler, are each charged with misdameanor theft for allegedly taking and misusing county road materials, equipment, and labor for work on private property.

In addition, the men are also charged with abuse of an official capacity.
