Union Grove Students Raise Money For Cancer Research

Some east Texas grade-schoolers came through in a big way to help raise money for cancer research.

A day of fun in the sun was the payoff for kids at Union Grove elementary school. In April teachers challenged the kids to raise five hundred dollars for Saint Jude's Children's Hospital cancer research, with a math-a-thon.

Kids earned money with each problem solved, and through donations, raising over three thousand dollars! One 5th grader got top fund-raising honors, collecting over 500 dollars in donations alone.
