A 17-month old little boy is dead after his mother left him inside her car while she was at work Tuesday in Phoenix, Arizona.
According to police, the woman, an employee at a Hooters Restaurant, came out to her car Tuesday evening after her shift, got into her car and saw the child in the back seat. Police said the woman screamed, got the attention of others and someone called for help.
Paramedics and police officers rushed to the scene, but there was nothing that could be done to save the little boy's life. The child was in the car all day long.
Temperatures in Phoenix were in the upper 80's and forecasters say it's very likely temperatures inside a locked car could exceed 100-degrees.
Police say an investigation is underway and it's too early to know what, if any, charges will be filed.
