South Garland Stuns, Defeats Top Ranked Longview Lobos

The Longview Lobos entered the playoffs a perfect 10 and 0, nationally ranked and the favorite by many to head to state.
However, in the bi-district playoffs on Saturday, the South Garland Colonels were not going to go down easily.
Lobos and Colonels squared off at Mesquite's Memorial stadium. South Garland knocked Longview out of the playoffs in 2003.  Colonels hoping to do the same in 2005.
In the first though, Longview's Vondrell McGee got the toss on the option and took it in for the 38 yard touchdown.
Longview took the lead, 7 to 0.
South Garland's Nick Florence would drop back to pass, fired one to the endzone and was picked off by Laderrick Satterwhite.
That set up a 21-yard field goal making it 10 to 0, Lobos.
Then in the second quarter, South Garland's Florence scored from one yard out on the QB keeper, making it 10 to 7 Longview.
Longview would miss two field goals, a big factor in the outcome of the game.
South Garland staged the comeback and mouths everywhere dropped.
South Garland defeated the Longview Lobos, 14 to 13.
