Deputies recover stolen motorcycle, drugs during search in Gilmer

GILMER, TX (KLTV) - Deputies with Upshur County Sheriff's Office recently recovered a stolen motorcycle and drugs during a search warrant execution in Gilmer.

Multiple agencies, including the DEA, Longview SWAT, ATF, and the Upshur County Special Investigation Unit conducted a search on Aug. 8 at a home in the 600 block of Bluebird Rd. in Gilmer.

"It was due to an on-going narcotics investigation that was conducted," Webb confirmed, however he could not comment on the nature of the investigation.

Webb said officers seized a cache of drugs including xanax pills, methamphetamines, and marijuana. He added that a stolen motorcycle was also recovered from the home. 

"If you're dealing drugs in Upshur County, we're going to wind up paying you a visit at some time," said Webb. "It would be my advice don't be doing it."

Kenny Okeith Harris, 34, of Longview, was arrested and charged with felony possession of controlled substance PG1<1G, misdemeanor possession of marijuana greater than 2 oz., felony theft of property over $2,500 under $30,000. His bond was set at $12,000.
