Cowboys owner addresses league controversies
KLTV Oxnard California - Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is very optimistic about his team's fortunes on the field. He was also asked at length about the NFL's off field issues.
Standing for the national anthem has become such a hot button topic the last two seasons. Jones maintains his team written rule is players should stand. The league's policy now is to stay in the lockeroom during the playing of it, but stand if they're on the sideline. Now it is a conversation locked down until further notice.
Papa John's pizza chain has caused a stir when its creator John Schatter used a racial slur during a meeting. He and the company have parted ways. Jones owns 120 Papa John franchises and says his position is different, although NFL teams have cut ties to the chain.
