SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A Murchison man said he did not stop for law enforcement officers during a motorcycle chase because his passenger, who was later killed in the crash, told him she "did not want to lose him today," according to an arrest document.

Sean Eammon Waite, 34, is being held in the Smith County Jail on charges of murder, two counts of evading arrest, theft, DWI and two Denton County charges of credit card abuse. He is being held on a collective bond of $961,000.

Waite is charged in connection with the death of Alicia Adams following a high-speed chase on June 14. Waite was arrested after the chase.

According to an arrest affidavit, Waite told investigators after he was arrested that he did not stop for police because he had warrants did not want "to lose everything he had." He also said that Adams told him "that she did not want to lose him today" so he decided to take off on his motorcycle.
