Marshall Police searching for fugitive wanted for aggravated assault

Marshall, TX - The Marshall Police Department is searching for a fugitive wanted for aggravated assault.

Marshall PD is asking for the public's help in finding Oscar Lavelle Smith, Junior, 26, of Marshall. They believe that Smith allegedly struck a victim during an altercation, leaving the victim with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

At about 2:31 p.m. Monday, officers responded to reports of an assault on the 1300 block of Alexander Street, according to police. When they arrived at the scene, they found a victim of the alleged assault. The victim was then transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Marshall to be treated.

Smith is wanted on an outstanding warrant charging him with Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury Family Violence.  He is described as a black male at about 5'7" tall and weighing approximately 156 pounds, according to Marshall PD.
