TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Bookworms and bibliophiles get ready to assemble; a popular used bookstore chain is planning to open a location in Tyler.

Half Price Books confirmed Monday that the company will open a store at The Village at Cumberland Park in Tyler. The store is set to open Aug. 31.

With more than 120 stores across the country, the chain says it is the country's largest family-owned retailer for new and used books. The company got its start in 1972 when Ken Gjemre and Pat Anderson opened a used book shop in an old laundromat in Dallas.

Half Price Books sold more than 2 million books in February, according to the company's website. They've also donated more than 1 million books to nonprofit groups this year.
