Search underway for missing Hunt County man

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - A search is underway for a missing Hunt County man.

The Hunt County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday that a search was set for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. The search party met at the Walmart in Quinlan, at 8801 Highway 34.

Officials are looking for Michael Chambers, 70. Chambers was reported missing by family members Friday night and officials later said they do not believe he left his residence "on his own accord." During the investigation, deputies searched the residence. Based on evidence at the scene, they say they believe Chambers is in danger.

The Texas Rangers have joined the effort.

Chambers is described as 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 225 pounds, balding with gray hair and was last heard from by his wife during a phone call about 8 a.m. Friday.
