CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A suspect and another person of interest in a Cherokee County murder have been identified.

Cherokee County Sheriff's Office issued an arrest warrant for Maximino Garcia, 31, in connection with the shooting death of 27-year-old Mario Rodriguez, who was found shot to death inside a truck on County Road 4502 near New Summerfield Sunday morning.

Officials say just after midnight, they received a call from Rodriguez's father. "He had taken his father's truck to the store in New Summerfield to buy some items at the dollar store and he didn't return home. And after 4 or 5 hours the father called and reported him missing," Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell said.

Campbell said around 9 a.m. Sunday, they found Mario Rodriguez shot to death inside his father's truck.

Authorities are also looking for Maximino Garcia's brother Emmanuel Garcia, 25, as a person of interest who could possibly be a witness in the case.
