Smoke from train engine failure temporarily disrupts traffic at Arp railroad crossing

ARP, TX (KLTV) - Fire crews responded to reports of a train engine fire in Arp Tuesday morning.

According to the Smith County Fire Marshal's Office, a fire was reported on a train at the railroad crossing on Highway 64 E. north of Highway 135 in Arp.

When crews arrived on the scene it was discovered that an engine on the train blew and it caused a billow of smoke in the area.

There were no injuries and traffic was not blocked.

Railroad officials are working to remedy the situation.
