PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) - Coming off his third NFL rushing title, Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson was honored in his hometown of Palestine on Saturday afternoon. Believe it or not, this was the 10th annual Adrian Peterson Day. The town started the celebration when the former Wildcat was drafted by Minnesota at number seven overall in 2007.

A parade began the festivities and the fun continued at Reagan park where Peterson and his family mingled with fans. The seven- time pro bowler of course signed plenty of autographs and smiled for pictures.

Peterson says this year's event felt a little different since Palestine went through tragic flooding last month. The 2012 NFL MVP donated over $100,000 of his own money to help out and Peterson was glad to give back.
