The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office released a statement on the case Monday:

"On 05-03-2016 the body of 24 year old Jubal Dee Alexander was discovered in his truck situated beneath the Austin Bayou Bridge near Angleton, Texas.  The body of Jubal Alexander had been decapitated.

(An) autopsy was completed by the Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office; Cause of Death is yet to be determined. Specialized forensic analysis is being completed by resources attached to the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

Jubal Alexander was working as a contractor at the Ineos plant on FM 2004.

The investigation has determined that Alexander was living out of his truck in order to save money.  Other than employment, no significant ties between Brazoria County and the victim have been identified.

(On) 05-24-2016, a witness came forward and notified the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office. The witness stated that Zachary Lyn Foyt (w/m DOB 9/15/91) 24 years of age had killed Jubal Alexander.  Motive for the killing is still being determined. Information from this witness was verified by comparing tip information to information that has not been made public.

Subsequent follow up investigation revealed that Foyt had fled Brazoria County to the city of Lakewood, Colorado.  A Brazoria County Investigative team traveled to Lakewood, Colorado to question the suspect.  Additionally, other local witnesses were questioned simultaneously.  All of the information collectively led to the arrest of Zachary Lyn Foyt.

A motive for the murder has not been determined. Currently, there is no information that has led investigators to believe Jubal Alexander knew his killer.  The decapitation of the body is thought to be an attempt at concealing or destroying evidence.

Zachary Lyn Foyt remains in the Jefferson County Colorado Jail at this time awaiting extradition to Texas.  His bail has been set at $5,000,000.00.

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office received extensive assistance from the United States Marshal's Service Southern District of Texas, Lakewood Colorado Police Department and the Brazoria County District Attorney's Office.
