TVCC board suspends president

ATHENS, TX (KLTV) - The president of Trinity Valley Community College has been suspended.

The board suspended Glendon Forgey with pay during its Monday meeting after a complaint was made against him.

The college board issued a statement on the suspension:

"The Board has been presented conflicting governmental documents by the College President without acceptable explanation. The Board members are elected by the citizens of the College District to oversee the college and its administrators, and to act in the best interest of the students and employees of TVCC.  This is a responsibility that the Board takes very seriously. The Board has determined that questions regarding the conduct of the President need to be fully investigated in order to fulfill its duties to the public."

Forgey has been with the college since January 2008.

He previously served as vice president for administrative services/chief financial officer for Tallahassee Community College from January 2004 to December 2007.
