Two displaced after car engine sparks house fire in Longview

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Two residents were displaced after a Wednesday evening fire in Longview.

According to the Longview Fire Department,  crews responded to a residential structure fire about 11:27 p.m. in the 100 block of west Pliler Street.

The department says the fire originated in the engine compartment area of a car, which was parked under the carport. The fire caused damage to the exterior wall, attic and some interior damage to the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials say that, at this time, there are no suspicious findings.

The Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the residents.
