AUSTIN, TX (KLTV) - When Texas takes the field on Saturday at number 11 Notre Dame, it will do so with a number of freshmen in the starting line-up. Gilmer's Kris Boyd won't start, but the true freshman is listed as the third string cornerback on the depth chart.

To be exact, head coach Charlie Strong will start five true freshmen against the Fighting Irish. In all, there are 25 players on the depth chart who have yet to play in a college game.

After going 6 and 7 in his first year, Strong is counting on a youth movement to turn things around in Austin.

"When you are at the University of Texas, this is what you sign on for," Strong said. "You sign on to play in big games. This is a big game for us. If you are talented enough and you can go get on the field, then lets put them on the field. That is what we have done. This is a group that is very talented so it doesn't concern me. I am just really excited to see how they are going to play and how hard they are going to play."
