GLADEWATER, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas man has been charged after leading police on a pursuit after escaping during an arrest attempt.

Gladewater police were called about 11:46 p.m. Wednesday to the 200 Block of South Main Street in reference to a business alarm at the Ace of Pawn. When officers arrived, they found a cut in the fence and a hole in the exterior wall of the building.

Inside, officers found the suspect, later identified as Larry Wayne Jedkins, 50, of Flint, and place him into custody.

Before Jedkins could be placed in the patrol unit, he managed to escape from officers and lead them on a two-block foot chase before he was able to be taken back into custody. Jedkins was charged with Burglary of a Building, Escape and was also found to have an outstanding Parole Warrant for Aggravated Robbery out of Montgomery County.
