Man charged in Smith County shooting

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A man has been charged after a Thursday afternoon shooting in Smith County injured one person.
Lt. Gary Middleton, with the Smith County Sheriff's Office, said Justin Tracy, 29, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence. He is being held in the Smith County Jail on $500,000 bond.
Deputies were called to a location in the 7600 block of County Road 2193 about 2 p.m. Thursday.
According to officials on scene, a man and a woman were arguing when the incident occurred. The man was holding a gun and the woman attempted to slap it out of his hand. A bullet was fired and the woman was injured. She was transported to an area hospital.
