RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The Rusk County Sheriff's Office arrested a man Tuesday for possessing 4.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine while on the way to serve a warrant to another suspect.

According to the sheriff's office, law enforcement officials executed a series of search warrants Tuesday morning. Tony Gene Peterson, 18, of Rockwall, was arrested and charged with manufacture/delivery of a substance of 1400 grams or more, which is a first degree felony. The Rusk County Sheriff called the bust a major victory for law enforcement.

"Narcotics is here. It's been here for a long time. And we are working on trying to slow it down and this is a major step helping to get a lot of the drugs out of Rusk County," says Rusk County Sheriff Jeff Price.

Sergeant David Roberts says another man, Joshua Lyle Harned, 30, is wanted in connection to the bust, as well as felony warrants from a different drug bust from Nov. 2014. Roberts says the sheriff's office is actively seeking Harned, and need the public's help to bring him to justice.

The sheriff's office says the investigation was a multi-agency operation involving the Rusk County Sheriff's Office, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Henderson Police Department, Rusk County Constable PCT #3, and the Center Police Department.

Law enforcement officials say more arrests could be made as the investigation continues.
