No injuries after vehicle fire on Interstate 20 in Smith County

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A vehicle fire on westbound Interstate 20 in Smith County could cause traffic delays.

The wreck is about two miles east of Barber Road at Exit 575. The driver was not injured in the incident.

A tow truck driver said he was hauling a truck on a flat bed and had a Pontiac vehicle hooked up behind the trailer when the Pontiac caught on fire. The driver tried to extinguish the fire but was unable to. He pulled over to the shoulder and unhooked the vehicle.

The driver, who was leaving a car auction, said the fire started in the engine compartment.

Drivers should use caution in the area.
