LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - The damage from a severe Thursday night storm is still being assessed at a Longview church.
The Longview Church of Christ on Eden Drive was hit during the storm.
"You're talking a lot of power, even though it doesn't last long, as soon as it comes by it does it damage and it just skips on to the next," said Brandon Farrell, Servicemaster general manager.
It was a storm that left church bricks in the grass and doors without glass.
Even though it didn't last long, it's a vivid memory for many people.
"It was just the sounds and the trembling and the shaking and the glass and doors blowing that made it pretty much a nightmare," said Stacy Collins, Eden Specialty Care employee.
The storm made its way through Longview and left its mark at the church destroying the roof and entryway.
"In this you're going to have a lot of structure damage, a lot of flooding. As you can see the roof ripped off. We got a lot of beams in there that's crushed so we got to be real careful approaching it," Farrell said.
Fortunately no was inside the church but next door it was a different story.
Seventy-five patients had to be evacuated from Eden Specialty Care but employees say most of the damage was to the outside of the building.
"We saw nothing but destruction out of the doors just a tunnel of wind that was dark and grey just spinning on the outside of the doors before the glass came blowing in," Collins said.
Restoration crews at the church planned to start water extraction Friday morning and get temporary power set up.
