LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - The holidays at Longview Fire Department Station 6 just got a little sweeter.
Residents of Buckner Westminster Place, a retirement services community, went to the fire station to make sure firefighters and EMTs had a homemade pie to go with their Thanksgiving dinner. They took eighteen pies for them to take home to their families. The good people of Buckner felt it was the least they could do.
“It makes us feel good because they're good to us. Over at Buckner they make a run over there every day or two, sometimes more than once a day. Some of them are necessary and some of them are not, but they never know until they get there. It's good to have them this close and them to be as nice as they are,” said Marion Garrison, Buckner resident.
Station 6 wasn't the only lucky pie recipient. They also delivered pies to the Longview Police Department and the Hiway 80 Rescue Mission.
