One dead after weekend shooting in Longview

One person was killed after a weekend shooting in Longview.
Officers were dispatched at 1:15 a.m. Saturday to the 3400 Block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in response to a call of shots being fired. While officers were responding to that location another call came in from Good Shepherd Medical Center. An officer working off-duty there was told a shooting victim had just arrived in the emergency room.
Police learned that Tarrence Lamond Booker, 40, of Longview, was brought to the hospital by people at the scene of the shooting. Police were told there was an altercation between several men at a club and numerous shots were fired, and Booker was shot at least one time. Booker had life-threatening injuries and later died at the hospital.
