KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - Craig Davison was arrested last week for assaulting his missing wife, Christina Davison, back in February.
Davison is charged with assault family violence and is being held in the Harrison County Jail. The Kilgore Police Department says their investigation into Christina's disappearance revolves around Craig Davison and his associates. However, Craig Davison has not been charged in Christina's disappearance.
Kilgore Police Sgt. Trae Portwood says Christina filed charges against Craig in February. The assault happened in Harrison County on Roy Green Road. Portwood says Christina went into hiding and did not follow up with investigators in Harrison County. He says recent events allowed investigators to put together enough evidence to arrest Craig Davison for the February assault.
Portwood says investigators have done several ground searches near Roy Green Road as they continue to look for any sign of Christina.
Christina Davison was reported missing on May 17, 2014 when she did not show up for work at a Kilgore Whataburger. She was last seen on May 16 in her 1992 black Toyota Camry with temporary license plate number CL6D629.
Craig Davison has a long criminal history in both Harrison and Gregg counties. He was last charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in December 2013.
This is also not the first time Craig Davison has been charged with assault family violence. Gregg County records show Craig Davison was charged with assault bodily injury to a family member in 2005 and 2006. Harrison County records show Craig Davison was charged with assault family violence in 1992.
Portwood says Craig Davison was also wanted on a probation violation out of Arapaho County, Colorado. His bond is set at $25,000.
