Golden Sweet Potatoes Featured On "Oprah"
Did you see the Oprah Winfrey Show today? She gave the small East Texas town of Golden some big-time national attention.
She was doing a show on some of her favorite foods and says few things in the world are as pure and sweet as the sweet potatoes...grown in Golden.
A lady from Dallas, who first turned her onto Golden sweet potatoes, appeared in a short report on the Oprah Show. She showed the nation what happens in Golden during the big festival organized to honor the sweet potato.
Oprah later noted there were about twice as many people in her audience as there are in the whole town of Golden. She then handed out Golden sweet potatoes to everyone.
A woman who works at a grocery store in Golden says she's been getting phone calls from all over the country since the show aired Thursday afternoon on KLTV 7.
