Hay barn destroyed in Friday morning fire

TROUP, TX (KLTV) - Troup Fire Department says a barn is a complete loss after it burned to the ground Friday morning.

Troup fire officials say the barn fire was called in at 10:02 by a neighbor. The barn was located in a pasture in Cherokee County.

They tell us the barn was full of hay, and was engulfed in flames by the time they arrived at the scene. Summerfield Fire Department also responded to the scene. Firefighters battled the blaze for over three hours.

The Troup Fire Department says it is unknown at this time what caused the fire. No one was present when the fire started.
