Two arrested, one still at large for E. Texas trailer theft
BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Two East Texas men have been arrested and another is wanted after an incident in Bowie County Wednesday evening.
According to the Bowie County Sheriff's Department, 50-year-old Jamie Clark Choate and 47-year-old Tracy Wayne Delese, both of Texarkana, were arrested on theft charges after fleeing authorities.
Sheriff James Prince was driving through the Echo Hills subdivision in Redwater when he noticed a suspicious vehicle. A truck passed Prince twice, driving in opposite directions. A short time later, this vehicle pulled up behind him while he was driving down Bowie Parkway. Prince pulled over, allowing the vehicle to pass him, and observed that the truck was now towing a trailer.
The truck turned into the Tex America property and Sheriff Prince followed close behind. After making several turns, it became obvious that the vehicle did not belong in this area. He called for a deputy to assist him in pursuing the vehicle. Deputy Randall Baggett responded to the area and turned on emergency lights in an effort to stop the truck.
The truck then fled, turned onto a different road and eventually into a driveway. The driver of the truck escaped on foot and managed to avoid capture. Choate and Delese were taken into custody at the scene and remain in the Bi-State Jail. After contacting the registered owner of the trailer, officials confirmed that the trailer had been stolen.
The driver of the truck has been identified as Michael Scott Ingram. A warrant for theft over $500 has been issued for his arrest. Anyone with information on his location should contact Lieutenant Alton White at 903-798-3149 or call 911.
