Ecstasy dealer receives 70-month sentence in ETX

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that Rickey Spratling, 31, of Longview has been sentenced for federal drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas.

Spratling pleaded guilty on April 10, 2012 to possession with intent to distribute ecstasy. He was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis.

According to information presented in court, Spratling was found in possession of ecstasy on May 7, 2011, with intent to distribute. He also admitted to possessing a gun during a drug trafficking crime.

This case is being investigated by the Texas DPS and the ATF, and is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bill Baldwin.
