LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police arrested a woman last week accused of posing as another woman and sending harassing text messages to herself.

Barbara Mott Bordelon, 52, is charged with two counts of tampering with evidence and fraudulent use of identifying information. She is being held in the Angelina County Jail on a collective bond of $95,000.

According to the arrest report, Bordelon and a man reported on July 9 that they received harassing phone calls and threatening text messages from a pre-paid cellphone purchased under the name of another woman. The threatening messages continued throughout the investigations and stated that friends of the woman would attack the two if they did not tell Lufkin Police to stop the investigation into the harassment.

Police arrested Bordelon on Thursday after the investigation revealed she had used the name of the woman to purchase the phone and make the messages.

After she was booked into jail, Bordelon said she fabricated the messages and story of harassment but did not have a reason for doing so, according to the report.

Bordelon has no prior criminal convictions on her record.
