Bossier City Police responded to a 911 hang up call from a room at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel at the Louisiana Boardwalk on April 28, 2012 and found William Bretherton, a.k.a. Billy the Exterminator, and his wife Mary.

Billy the Exterminator (formerly The Exterminators) is an American reality television series which airs on the A&E network.

The show follows the professional life of Billy Bretherton, an expert in the field of pest control and the proprietor of Vexcon Animal and Pest Control in Benton, Louisiana, which serves the Shreveport-Bossier metropolitan area.

Police say the couple was found in the hotel room with a substance they believed to be synthetic marijuana and a device commonly used to smoke narcotics.

Police took the suspected synthetic marijuana for testing at the Northwest Louisiana Crime Lab in Shreveport. The police department was notified last week the substance came back positive as synthetic marijuana.

Arrest warrants were issued for both on misdemeanor charges of possession of schedule 1 of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Billy the Exterminator and his wife were contacted by the police about the warrants and they turned themselves in on June 1, 2012. Both bonded out of the Bossier City Jail later that same day.

Each had a total bond of $6,000.
