TYLER, TX (KLTV) - “I’m 101 and one-half. My birthday is October 28, 1910,” said Earline Andrews.

Wednesday afternoon, Andrews participated in early voting, something she has done for years.

“It’s very important; it molds what we are going to have in the future,” said Andrews.

She may have lost count of how many times she has been to the polls, but there are a few things she will never forget.

“Well, I remember very vividly during the Great Depression, when so many of the banks were failing and President Roosevelt declared a bank holiday,” Andrews said.

She has lived through the Great Depression and the current recession, but Ms. Andrews said nothing will compare to the days preceding WWII.

“There’s nothing like it, no comparison, really. Because unless one had lived through that, one would not really realize exactly how it was,” Andrews said.

From Women’s Suffrage to the first man on the moon, Andrews has lived through a lot.

“Honey, I’ve seen 100 years of change and it’s all been very new and very drastic,” said Ms. Andrews.

With the election right around the corner, there is more to come.
